Take Note Named as MRS Operations Awards Finalist

Take Note Names MRS Oppies Finalist 2022

Take Note has been named as a finalist in the Market Research Society (MRS) Operations Awards in the prestigious ‘Premier Award – Operational Excellence‘ category. Additional finalists in this category are working with Take Note regularly, including Acacia Avenue. The winner will be announced on the 29th of September.

The judges aimed to identify suppliers which have adopted modern management techniques with the goal of improving efficiencies, promoting excellent quality and delivering at consistently high standards. It’s an honour to be named among the other incredible companies in this category.

What are the MRS Operations Awards – The Oppies?

The MRS Operations Awards are an annual celebration of the operation powerhouses that support the wonderful world of Market Research. This is the ninth year that the MRS has recognised the supporting teams who work tirelessly to innovate and achieve the highest standards.

Operations don’t always get the credit they deserve, despite the fact they ensure that projects run smoothly on time and on budget. We’re therefore grateful for this recognition, as well as to all our loyal clients, every 5-star review and advocate of ours.

The awards, affectionately nicknamed ‘The Oppies’, has been a welcome addition to the role of honours up for grabs across the sector each year. For those who enter, who are named finalists and who go on to win, it’s a chance to sing the praises of those who may typically fly under the radar.

Take Note Also Named ‘Best Support Service’ in 2021

Last year, Take Note was also honoured by The Oppies with the award for Best Support Service.  This recognition was due in part due to our fully encrypted online portal. It was developed to allow us to provide the most secure transcription service, all within an easy-to-use intuitive platform.

The portal caters to the modern-day workflow of researchers while helping them to keep all their data safe and secure. It seems only fitting that this year The Oppies are also focused on identifying those who are helping the industry continue to progress, this time with modern management techniques.

We’ve opted to go for an award that acknowledges the commitment of our team and the processes we’ve adopted as we continually strive to offer the best service possible. The lovely feedback we receive from our clients lets us know we must be doing something right.

We’re really proud of the advancements we’ve made so far, but the work of continual improvement is obviously never done.

Delivering Operational Excellence

A core aspect of Take Note being able to deliver the best service possible has been the introduction of our Internal Commitments and Internal Communications Programmes. We use them to define and measure operational excellence against our own self-imposed high standards. Using combined insights drawn from six hours of internal workshops, an engagement survey, and a full review of exit interviews with insights on remote work, we created a set of principles which all employees stand by. The standards incorporate world-class efficiency and consistency into our every exchange.

Measuring our performance against all commitments every month has allowed us to improve our performance quicker than ever before. It helps us to direct resources to where they’ll have the biggest impact.  Having the commitments front of mind has taken our problem-solving culture up a notch as we hold ourselves accountable to look for solutions.

Our Internal Communications Programme has created consistency in how we interact so that messages are clear, people understand what’s expected of them and that meetings are valuable. We’re lucky enough to have some experienced notetakers on the team too, so agreements and actions are recorded and circulated with no time wasted.

Processes have helped us to make strides forward, but our people and their commitment to excellence help to set us apart. We recognised a further opportunity to accelerate performance through the appointment of a Head of Service Delivery. Ryan Knowles has recently joined us and will be focused on identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies across the whole business. He will handle everything from how we further streamline our recruitment process to actioning feedback from our clients.

Join us at the Award Ceremony

The Oppies winners will be announced on the 29th of September, and this year it’s back to a glamorous in-person affair at The Curtain in Shoreditch. Further details on the event and tickets can be found on the MRS website. After a particularly tough few years, it will be nice to catch up face-to-face with old friends and make new ones. The MRS previously put on a good virtual event, but there’s nothing quite like celebrating together.

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for another win, but it’s sure to be a great night either way. It’ll be a chance to mingle with the other awesome finalists and learn more about how the sector is pushing forward.

We’d love to see you there.
