You can opt for a Verbatim Transcript - which gives you a full transcript of the audio file in its entirety, but with filler words such as umm’s & err’s removed. Alternatively, if these are necessary or provide useful context (e.g. in legal cases or where text analytics are useful) we can leave them in.

Intelligent Verbatim

Our Intelligent Verbatim transcripts are more focused and easier to review, without losing any of the meaningful content. Whilst retaining full participant responses, our transcribers summarise moderator questions and remove any off-topic small talk; meaning we're able to provide a transcript at a lower price than a full verbatim that can still provide you with all the important information you need.

What is Verbatim?
Verbatim is a word-for-word record of what was originally spoken. A full transcript of the audio file in its entirety, but with filler words such as umm’s & err’s removed. Our elite team of transcribers are able to parse some of the worst audio quality and accurately identify speakers. If you want every little detail this is the service for you.Â
In reality, even if you want an ‘exact’ transcript, you don’t actually want every little noise on the recording written down on paper. False starts, stutters, ‘ums’ and ‘errs’ — all of these distract from the readability of your transcript. Take Note’s human transcription services will remove these irrelevant utterances, delivering a far cleaner and easier to read transcript. These transcripts are normally called ‘verbatim’.
Many will think they need a full verbatim transcription with little idea of how the final transcript will actually look and read. Full verbatim transcripts can be unbearably difficult to digest, with everything from coughs, door creaking and sneezing recorded in written word.
 But if you need every um and err included, we can do that too.
Why Verbatim?
Verbatim is often the preferred choice for a number of professions and business procedures due to the sensitive nature of the discussion.
In cases such as interviews and subtitles on video files, verbatim is the option that achieves the readable, accurate transcription required. This accuracy is also sometimes vital for capturing ideas or quoting team members in meetings with the necessary care.
Legal teams, for example, would use our Verbatim service over our Detailed Notes service as they are often required to have a word-for-word record of testimonies or hearings.
However, they are the more expensive options, so it’s always best to determine if you really need that extra level of detail when selecting your choice of service.
